Boeing Starliner Mission to Launch in May 2024

First Crewed Flight for NASA's Commercial Crew Program

Mission Objective: Test Starliner's Capabilities for Future Crew Missions

Cape Canaveral, Florida - Boeing is set to launch its first-ever crewed Starliner mission for NASA as early as May 6, 2024. This critical test flight will demonstrate the spacecraft's capabilities and readiness for future crewed missions to the International Space Station (ISS).

The mission, known as Starliner-1, will carry astronauts to the ISS for a short-duration stay. The spacecraft will be launched aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

Boeing's Starliner spacecraft is being developed in collaboration with NASA's Commercial Crew Program, which aims to foster private sector innovation in human spaceflight. The program seeks to provide safe and reliable transportation services to the ISS and beyond.

The Starliner-1 mission will be a major milestone for Boeing and NASA, and it will mark the first crewed launch of a new U.S. spacecraft since 2011. The mission will pave the way for future crewed missions to the ISS and will support NASA's long-term exploration goals.
